c) The most important thing about the Second Coming of Christ is…Christ is coming!

2) Jesus Christ is coming back, therefore we should be encouraged and eager for His return

a) We should be encouraged because we don’t know when He is coming back

i) We do not know when he will return

(1) Supporting verses

(2) What about signs of His return?

(a) What are the signs?

(b) It is unlikely, but possible that the signs have been fulfilled

ii) Jesus is coming back someday, and it just might be today!

b) We should be encouraged because He is coming back bodily, visibly, and personally

i) Bodily- we will no longer be living by faith, but by sight

ii) Visibly- he will come in power for the whole world to see

iii) Personally- he will gather the believers to himself; we will be with Him!

c) We should be eager for His return because

i) When he returns he will judge all mankind

(1) Believers will receive rewards

(a) Varying degrees of reward

(2) Everyone else will be judged according to their deeds

(a) Varying degrees of punishment

(3) He will put an end to our suffering and persecution

3) We should expect Christ to return in our lifetime!

i) Forgive others

ii) Live to please God today

iii) Tell others the reason for your encouragement
